Cosmic Equipment UK Ltd are a dedicated, engineering based organisation with the skills to meet the demanding needs of our expanding customer base of device manufacturers around the world. Part of the Microtest global group of companies, Cosmic Equipment UK Ltd stands at the forefront of innovation and flexibility in power testing solutions. At our base in the UK we focus on developing solutions for testing challenging new technologies such as GaN and SiC as well as for the latest generation of mosfets, IGBT’s, diodes, SCR’s and bipolars.
Product development is core to our existence and we have introduced a significant new product nearly every year since our origins in the early 80’s; our Mostrak test system has been through constant cycles of renewal, whilst always retaining compatibility.
We operate seamlessly between our Engineering, Manufacture and Test, Customer Support and Technical Sales groups. Our success also lies in investing in and working closely with our external manufacturing base to ensure we are as responsive and nimble as possible whilst drawing on the experience and production efficiency of our family of dedicated CEM partners and OEM manufacturers. Above all, Cosmic Equipment UK Ltd is responsive.

Back-end and Wafer Test
New technologies like wide band-gap Galium Nitride (GaN) and Silicon Carbide (SiC) are dramatically improving the performance and efficiency of power conversion products, contributing to a greener, safer world. Cosmic Equipment UK Ltd’s family of Mostrak and Mostrak-2 test systems are helping to bring these products to market faster with their broad coverage of static, avalanche and switching tests, as well as production-focused features such as part-average testing software and test cell integration and automation. We have the most comprehensive test coverage for power electronics.
Our global customer base of leading Integrated Device Manufacturers rely on Cosmic Equipment UK Ltd systems to ensure round-the-clock, 100% testing of their discrete power semiconductor products to ensure reliability in their final application, whether that be automotive, industrial or power conversion. Cosmic Equipment UK Ltd’s highly integrated discrete power test systems offer complete test coverage for both back-end test and wafer test, backed by 30+ years of continuous design and development.
Cosmic Equipment UK Ltd was founded specifically to design and build production line testers for Integrated Device Manufacturers (IDMs) of discrete power semiconductors.
Our first Mostrak tester introduced in 1987 was the world’s first indexed parallel test system, offering production throughput increases between 2 and 4 times the output of competitive systems for both wafer and back-end. Continuous development means that our Mostrak product line continues to grow faster, flexible and more accurate with each generation whilst offering greater flexibility and more comprehensive coverage than ever before.

Cosmic Equipment UK Ltd has become a corporate member of the UK chapter of IMAPS, the International Microelectronics Assembly & Packaging Society.
IMAPS is the largest microelectronic packaging society in the world and is is a global community of microelectronic related engineers, scientists, manufacturers, end-users and supply chain companies. The Society aims to support the development and growth of the Microelectronics and related industries and to aid the transfer of knowledge and information.
Cosmic Equipment UK Ltd will benefit from IMAPS trusted reputation within industry and academia and help us expand our understanding of packaging and handling technologies which goes hand-in-hand with device testing, especially as material technologies continue to push the envelope of speed and power and challenge device inductance and power ratings. In return, we aim to increase IMAPS profile within semiconductor test and widen their sphere of expertise.
